Electrical Testing Information

Standard Test Parameters*

  • 100% continuity and isolation testing derived from a Gerber generated netlist

  • Continuity / Opens test performed at 5vdc @ 12mA

  • Isolation Resistance / Shorts test performed at 100vdc @ 100 Megaohm threshold.

  • Maximum continuity resistance threshold is 100 Ohms ( any reading higher than 100 Ohms is considered an open ).

  • Isolation resistance threshold is 100 Megohms ( a reading less than 100 Megaohms is considered a short ).

  • Minimum feature size and spacing = .008"

*Note: All electrical test are performed per IPC Standard IPC-ET-652

Additional Test Capabilities

  • Voltage range for continuity test is 0.5vdc to 100vdc.

  • Voltage range for isolation test is 0.5vdc to 500vdc.

  • Testing range for constant current is 8mA to 500mA.

Testing Definitions

Electrical Test: Electrical testing verifies that the printed networks on the board carry signals according to design requirements. It does not ensure that the board can be assembled nor that the board meets all of the customers specifications.

Continuity Testing: An electrical test to determine whether or not a circuit or other connection is broken (open circuit ) or has excessive resistance.

Isolation Test: An isolation test ensures that each network is electrically isolated from all other networks.
